I "threw my hip out" by sleeping. About ten years ago I woke up one morning and as soon as I moved I instantly felt extreme pain in my left hip. It hurt so bad it took me about 15 minutes to get out of bed because I had to move so slow and careful. With very slow movements I somehow managed to get to the bathroom and do my business. Over the rest of the day I couldn't walk at all, but with help from a pair of old crutches (from another injury years earlier) I managed to get to the kitchen to get food or to the bathroom to do the other thing. I had to skip shower that day and instead stayed in bed most of the day watching tv. I cried several times from the pain and when I dropped the tv remote on the floor it took me like half an hour and some McGyvering to get it back up to the bed. The day after the pain was gone and my hip was normal again. I still have no idea what happened and it thankfully hasn't happened again.

The first time I ever saw a vet, it was for my six-month old cockatiel. I'd woken up and found her super lethargic with some crusty thing all over her feathers. Despite everyone saying it was probably fine, I panicked and begged the vet for an emergency visit. She had a sudden flareup of infection, which none of the other tests showed, and despite their best efforts she passed away. But what really broke my heart was the fact that while I was petting my dead bird, telling her that I would take good care of any of her flock mates if another one chooses me like she did and that I was so sorry she never got to live a long life, the vet asked very quietly if I was angry with her. I was shocked and genuinely confused. I asked her why I would be angry with her? She did her best to save my bird. She told me that most clients would be angry that she hadn't been able to, and that it was amazing that I'd caught the illness so soon. She also told me that I couldn't have done anything any sooner because there literally wouldn't have been any signs. I hope that my acceptance and gratitude helped her cope with the grief. I couldn't deal with that sort of stress, especially the owners who try and do convenience euthanasia.

As a person who isn't an overdramatic health inspector, the bathroom doesn't determine whether the food at the restaurant tastes good or not. And if you want to be real about it, all of the absolute best tasting restaurants are the most run-down ones because people with a lot of money don't cook as good or have as good of recipes because they're all too scared to season things. I tore ligaments in my left foot in undergrad. My snow boots were next to my bed and I tripped over them. Had to wear an aircast for 6 weeks and my foot has never been the same.

Was cleaning out a foreclosed trailer and property that my buddy got from his uncle who didn’t pay the taxes and was a tweaker. But he had a bedroom that was a gun room and some of the stuff was still there and we found a jar of black powder and naturally we started fucking around with it outside burning shit with it and and his brother in law made a big ass pile of powder with a trail about a foot long or less and he lit it and all I heard a yelp and got to the door just in time to see him bolt across the yard with smoke coming off of his head he singed his eyebrows off and made his face completely black like a cartoon and it still makes me laugh thinking about seeing that smoke coming off of his head as he was running around frantically funniest shit I’ve ever seen in my life I was doubled over laughing so hard all that came out was wheezing and had my eyes watering I wish I had it on video😂😂😂

I broke 2 fingers when I was 5 or 6 because I was jumping around and fell into a barbell and brought the thing down on my hand. When I was in high school I tore ligaments in two fingers playing basketball a couple of weeks apart (one of which was in a finger I broke). I also cut my finger to the bone peeling potatoes (it was on the knuckle and it healed on its own). At my first job I was working retail and cut my finger on the jewelry case (it hurt more than it should’ve and I figure it’s because that’s the same finger I cut while peeling potatoes. Later I tore the ligament on my finger again (again the same one that I broke) while at work at a different job. Most of those injuries were to my left hand and if not for the accompanying arthritis I might’ve been able to be ambidextrous (if such a thing is genetic as my dad was). My left hand took a lot of abuse in my time lol

My cockatiel totally is when she wants to be. Her name is literally Princess Peach because she's (1) colorful and (2) an absolute diva. She'll hiss at me and bite my fingers really really hard sometimes, then almost immediately do a gentle tap with her beak to indicate that she wants scritches. Evidently she doesn't do the biting nearly as much with my fiancé, even though I'm the one that takes care of and often times spoils her. However, sometimes she'll hop to my shoulder and give me kisses, as opposed to attempting to yank out my fiancé's beard. I love her😊
